A writer of psyhological thrillers will be the guest at the next meeting of Bowness book club.
The club meets every month at the Burn How Hotel and on October 18 they will welcome Paul Teague, whose stories have been sold in more than 110 countries.
Paul, born in Kent, raised in Lincolnshire and now living in Cumbria, has published 19 psychological thrillers and 10 science fiction stories as well as several non-fiction titles. The thrillers include the nine-part Morecambe Bay series, set around the Lancashire coast, with Barrow and even the Walney windfarm getting a starring role.

Paul has worked as a waiter, shopkeeper, primary school teacher, DJ, and radio journalist and broadcaster for the BBC. He wrote his first book at the age of nine. “Titled Mr Plum And Mr Apple, the hand-written story received the inevitable rejection slip from Penguin Books, but that didn’t stop me dabbling with writing for the rest of my life,” he says..
He has just signed a five-book deal with digital-first publisher Storm Publishing and they will manage film and TV rights, foreign rights and audiobook productions.
The book club is at 7pm on Wednesday October 18. All are welcome. It’s free, there’s no membership requirement, and you don’t need to read a set book every month, just come along and enjoy listening to authors talking about their work, and having the chance to chat with them.
