24th Keswick Film Festival
29 February – 3 March 2024
The full programme for the 2024 Film Festival is now available online and we have a great line-up of films that will enthral and entertain.
Starting off with the European Première of Between the Lights, filmed in part in Keswick itself, we move towards Festival favourite Kore-eda’s latest Monster at the close.
In between we have a crop of pre-releases as well as a number of titles that feature in Sight and Sounds’ 50 best films of 2023. We have the sensory masterpiece, Samsara and the culinary delights of The Taste of Things, both of which will be seen at their best on Rheged’s big screen with its brand-new projector. Then there is Evil Does Not Exist, Hamaguchi’s follow-up to Drive My Car; Mexico’s Oscar entry Tótem and Sight and Sounds’ Number 2 pick, The Zone of Interest, Jonathan Glazer’s prize-winning film about the Commandant at Auschwitz and the family life he tries to build just outside the fence.
Our guest from 2023, Hassan Nazer (Winners) has recommended Melody, which David Miller thinks could be this year’s Lunana and look out for Four Daughters, one of the most eye-opening and emotional documentaries I have ever seen.
