LEGO@LAKE DISTRICT

LEGO® Lake District is coming to Windermere Jetty Museum this summer.

An impressive ten square metre long replica of the Lake District, built by artist Jon Tordoff out of LEGO® bricks offers the opportunity to explore and discover the beautiful landscape of the Lake District in a unique way. Alongside the exhibition, there will also be exciting LEGO® activities and workshops for enthusiasts of all ages.

It represents some of the Lake District National Park’s most dynamic features including woodlands, fells, lakes and waterfalls. Currently, the replica features ButtermereCrummock WaterHonister PassBorrowdaleDerwentwater and is approaching into Keswick. The model continues to grow, with aspirations for it to include more recognisable landscapes from across the Lake District, including Windermere.

Artist Jon Tordoff put down his paint brushes and picked up the LEGO® bricks to create this expansive scale-model of the Lake District. Originally an oil painter, Tordoff began building his LEGO® Lake District during the COVID pandemic as a hobby in his Derbyshire Cottage. The hobby has since grown into an ambitious project, with the model currently being made up of 200,000 pieces and spanning 60 boards.
