Grizedale Forest Trail Race
The Grizedale Forest Trail Marathon and Half Marathon takes place from Grizedale Forest Visitor Centre, near Hawkshead in the Lake District. The Half Marathon course is the first 13 miles of the Marathon route and takes place on the wide and well maintained forest tracks. The route is ‘undulating’ but runners are rewarded with some incredible views of Coniston and surrounding areas befire returning to Grizedale Visitor Centre where the Half Marathon finishes but the Marathon distance runners will continue to complete an Eastern loop with some amazing scenery out towards and alomg the shores of Windermere. The terrain is varied, with some road sections but it’s certainly not flat. The event always fills in advance and is a fantastic way to enjoy some winter trails.
