A great Easte break

5 of 5 starsReviewed 9 April 2012 NEW

My husband and I stayed in the Bay Room for 3 nights over Easter at this hotel. We were well impressed with the size of this room. The bathroom has a shower and a bath. What we really liked was the fact that the room was separate to the hotel so it was lovely and quiet (we hate staying in hotels where you are woken by doors slamming in corridors or maids starting there cleaning early!) The food we found to be exceptional. Starter, sorbet, main course, desert then lovely chocolates and coffee! The chef certainly is one of the best.  In fact all the staff were excellent, they really worked as a team. Even the owners helped out at breakfast when it was really busy. Everyone was given a Cadburys Creme egg on Easter Sunday which was a lovely touch.  This is a beautiful area to stay, we enjoyed hiring bikes from the cycle hire place at Windermere station and cycling around the lake.

Perfect Escape

5 of 5 starsReviewed 10 April 2012 NEW

My parents have often visited The Burn How and following their Diamond Wedding Celebration, I treated them to an Easter weekend break, which we all really enjoyed. All the staff are so warm and welcoming. The hotel is situated in lovely gardens and very convenient for the Bowness Ferry and town. Our rooms were spacious, (my parents was palatial,) really comfortable and had everything we required including a never ending source of really hot water, great for aching muscles. The food is amazing, the best hotel food I have ever had, 5 star dining at The Burn How. It was my first visit but will not be my last.

Room Tip: There is a gym at the hotel but I did not use it as there is such wonderful outdoor activities.

“Excellent Burn How Hotel”

We have stayed many times in Bowness but never at the Burn How but we’ll definitely come again. We were in a family room on a two night break with our two daugters. Room one was large clean comfortable and overlooking the garden. All the staff were so family friendly and were totally down to earth. Nothing was too much trouble.
The breakfast was possibly the best breakfast we have ever had and yet again, the staff were keen, helpful and very frieindly. We arrived home today (Wednesday) very relaxed. Thank you to all the people at the Burn How Hotel.

‘Windermere Wonderland’

Mrs. Dorothy Walker ‘Windermere Wonderland’ We have visited Burn How Garden House Hotel several times and absolutely love it every time we visit. When we leave we just can’t wait to return. The friendly atmosphere, comfortable and cosy accomodation as well as the first rate food and beautifully selected paintings, ornaments and pretty garden always makes our stay unforgettable. Also the attention to detail for guests by the staff is very much in evidence, from the abundance of teas, coffees and biscuits in our room to the teapots that never drip!! We just love it and really appreciate the opportunity to spend time in their wonderful Hotel

‘Fantastic, flexible and welcoming’

little restricted with small parking bays. 26th March, 2012 3/5 respond
Mrs. Karen Velasquez ‘Fantastic, flexible and welcoming’ Travelling with a toddler and gravely pregnant can be stressful at the best of times, it was such a welcome relief to arrive at the hotel.
Check in was fast and efficient, our room was warm, modern, clean, spacious and cot already up and ready for our little one.
Breakfast was amazing, they had a high hair already set up on a window table from where out little one could watch the birds in the feeders. I must say tue eggs benedict were miraculously good.
Our every need was catered for before we had opportunity to ask.
We had planned a romantic meal at dinner time using the baby listening service – unfortunately baby would not go to bed in time – staff were ver flexible, they waited for us and eventually offered to bring the meal to us instead – so it was a romantic meal for 3 instead!
Finally – they allowed us to check out late at no extra charge in order for toddler to have her nap before we set off.
Thanks again to everyone involved, it has been a Reilly memorable break.
