Celebration Break

Mrs N White My husband and I have just returned from celebrating our 40th Wedding Anniversary in the Mews Room. The room was very spacious, clean and airy, the bathroom having a lovely walk in shower as well as a bath. What can I say about the food only one word SCRUMPTIOUS. The choice at Breakfast both cold and hot was simply to die for,the Dinners were also of an excellent quality. I must not forget the attention that was given to us by all the staff. Every thing excellent. Well done BURN HOW for giving us an unforgetable stay. 18th September, 2012

Perfect Stay

Very comfortable overnight stay at the Burn How. Clean and welcoming room with all facilities required. Excellent food, particularly the evening meal – the best Sea Bass I’ve ever tasted. Friendly staff and beautiful surroundings. Thank you! Mr Wilson

Perfect for our family

Our room was really its own little cabin with a big bathroom, lots and lots of places for bags and gear to rest. We filled all beds and a baby cot, and loved it. The staff was excellent- we are a high maintenance family and nothing was a problem for the staff. Gracious and friendly at every encounter. The décor of our room was a bit tired, the carpet should be replaced; but new sheets and towels. We will totally stay again! the food was amazing. Truly great to have such high standard food- so we could feed kids healthy food and 2 minute walk – tub and bed! Lovely setting, right on the road- but set back behind a lush garden- really quiet and simply the best!!! the Elliott family

Great Place to Stay

My wife and I decided to stay in the Lake District for our 45th Wedding Anniversary and after considering all of our options we decided on the BurnHow.
How glad we are that we made the right decision and enjoyed a three night stay almost on Lake Windermere which is just a couple of minutes walk away.
We were made most welcome on arrival and things just got better from there. Breakfast was superb and the dinning experience an absolute must.
If your looking for somewhere to stay, this is a must try. Mr Carroll

Annniversary Weekend

Was upgraded on arrival 2 the bay room. The size of the room was fantastic and the bed must have been queen size, the ensuite bathroom was again a very genorous size. All the staff were so friendly nothing was to much trouble. Our compliments to their chef who is a top class cook, they should have 5 stars for that alone, our only quarm, and this is just our personal opinion is that the rooms could do with modernising, but they were very clean. The location of burn howe is only a 5 min walk down to the village with shops nearby and the boat trips over beautiful windermere. On the whole 10 out of 10, would definately return. Well done Burn How and thank you for a lovely weekend Mrs Kerry Shaw

Our road trip

We have also left a review on booking.com. Our stay, although short, was very enjoyable. The staff were friendly and accomodating, we dined in the hotel restaurant, the menu and wine list were adequate and the food and the service were both excellent. Our accomodation was very good, especially the ‘Bay’, which our two year old grandson loved. The location was ideal and the surroundings were really beautiful. We would have no hesitation in returning to the ‘Burn How’ again, and would recommend this hotel to our friends in an instance. Mr Dell

Hidden Gem

For our seventh visit to Windermere, Bowness was a fresh base with Burn How a random choice based on the web site and customer reviews. We stayed in the main house as opposed to the modern rooms and it was pure 5-star quality very much on par with one of the flagship hotels we previously stayed in along Windermere. Quality permeates in all aspects from furnishing and fittings to food and service. Spotlessly clean. Easy access to the town without having to search (and pay) for parking with lakeside and main attractions such as Beatrix Potter exhibition and Blackwell House nearby. Well maintained country garden in which to relax. Definite base for all future visits Mr J McCauley
