Hi, my partner and I stayed at the Burn How last weekend as a treat for our 3rd anniversary, and we had a wonderful time. The rooms were immaculate, wel equipped and very comfortable. The breakfast was amazing and the staff so very helpful and friendly.

Wonderful Stay

We have been staying regularly at the Burn How for over 15 years now and have never been disappointed with our choice during all that time.
If you are looking for a modern “boutique” hotel then don’t stay here. If, however, you like a proper “country house” hotel with charm and character, the best range of breakfast menu you could ever want and excellent evening dining, then in our opinion you will be hard pressed to find anywhere that’s better value for money. The rooms are traditionally furnished and kept spotlessly clean. The regular staff, Linda, Maggie, Melissa and Dorothy, are always friendly and attentive and keep the place running like a swiss watch, under the watchful eye of Michael the owner who is never far away. Added to this the Hotel sits in delightful grounds and is literally only a few minutes from Bowness and Lake Windermere. We hope to continue staying there for many more years to come and continue to recommend it to all our friends. Long may it continue!!

75th Birthday Treat

We spent two nights at the Burn How Garden Hotel to celebrate my husband’s 75th birthday. Choosing any hotel from the internet is always a lottery, but on this occasion we were not disappointed. We had a lovely room, superb breakfasts, made all the more enjoyabe by watching all the many birds through the restauant window as we ate and a delicious evening meal. We were made very welcome and all the staff were very friendly but efficient. We would recommend this hotel

Simply Brill!!!

Hi. Probably the best accommodation of it’s kind in the area. HUGE chalet room, plenty of room to dump our fishing gear. Cars can park directly outside the door, lovely gardens, nice bar area for a pint, and a gentle stroll to the town. Staff were incredibly friendly and chatty. Really did go the extra mile. Breakfast was superb. It’s easy just to fling as much food on a plate as possible and serve but the portion size was just right, piping hot, fresh and really tasty. Can’t wait to go back

Midweek break

We always try to. Get into burn how if we are staying in Bowness . We like the layout of the hotel which allows freedom without being isolated . We love the garden rooms which are well fitted out and very spacious. The breakfasts are a real treat and although we’ve not had dinner at the hotel I’m sure they will be every bit as good as the food cooked at breakfast time. The staff are very friendly and the hotel is spotlessly clean.
