Short Break August 201

Janet and I have been staying at this hotel since 1993 on an annual basis for the majority of the time up to the present date.
Over the years we have seen a number of changes, none of which have detracted from the excellent service we have experienced.
It forms a bench mark against which we compare other hotels, and none of them have reached the standards of Burn How Mr Laycock 11th August 2014

Great Position

Family run and it shows, the Gardens are beautifully kept and are a credit to them.
Our chalet room (no 9) was very comfortable and provided a good nights sleep for both my wife and I.
Dinner was exceptional with service to match, breakfast was also as expected.
The Hotel is situated a short walk (5 mins ) from the tourist bank of lake Windermere.
All in all a perfect place to stay in Windermere area Thomas from Runcorn

This was our 2nd visit to Burn How and it was every good as the first. This visit was for our 24th wedding anniversary and once again we were made to feel special. The room we had (the rose garden) was amazing, ultra stylish and super clean. The restaurant is wonderful as is the food and service. Altogether a fabulous stay. We will be returning again next year

Great Location and good value for money

We managed to get a last minute room having looked and found no other suitable places in Bowness. The few we found had a minimum 2 night stay and where quite expensive so we were very pleased to get a room for a single night at a very reasonable price. It included all the basics you would expect of a 3* AA rated hotel, clear room, comfy bed etc. The room included breakfast which was good and had quite a few choices to suit everyone. The hotel is located 5 minutes walk from the town center and the lake so was an idea location.
Would highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for something basic and not expensive. Note, even though the hotel website did not show any availability, we still managed to get a room after giving them a call so would recommend you do the same! Vishal from Leicester

Excellent Hotel

We booked this for our 10th Wedding Anniversary as we had gone to the Lakes for our honeymoon. We had a disabled room which was fully equipped for my husband’s needs. The food was excellent – in fact I think it was the best food I had ever had in a hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful and all worked really hard. We were handed an anniversary card on arrival which was a lovely touch. We will definitely go again and would certainly recommend it. Val from Rossendale

Brilliant Deal

Four of us booked through travelzoo a night at the hotel. Both rooms where excellent in every way, large beds , king and queen size.Tea /coffee available and very nice en suite bathrooms .
The deal included 3 course meal with a bottle of wine per couple, which was very good value. The food was lovely, and the staff and service was second to none, they could not do enough for us..
Our breakfast was equally of a high standard , with a wide selection for every choice..
We would have no problem recommending this hotel it is very well situated for the lake, with some nice walks recommended nearby Michael from Bromborough

Wonderful Hotel

Our first visit was for a 2 night DB&B break to enable us to catch up with old friends in the area. Our room, overlooking the garden terrace was clean and comfortable. The beds were excellent as was the bathroom hygiene. The 3-course dinners were more than ample: wee struggled to eat everything on the second night, having also revelled in the superbly opulent breakfast menu.
The staff were obviously well-trained and very friendly. There was no stuffiness or pretension even though the clientele during our stay were predominantly of pensionable age. The resident owner/managers were very pleasant to everyone and we con only wish them continued success. How lovely to find something being done right!!!

Brief Visit

We recently spent one night at Burn How, having stayed there several times in the past. The Garden Room we occupied was very well appointed and pleasant. Dinner was very good (although we were slightly disappointed that the “Smaller Bites” menu was not available although still on the website). Breakfast was extremely comprehensive. Recent Stay

Hotel is set in beautiful location with lovely grounds. Staff were friendly, room sizes were good. Food in restaurant was excellent although dinner was a little pricey. Rooms could be cleaner and pillows need renewing. That said, we would stay again but take our own pillows. Mrs Katz 4th June 2013
