we only spent one night at burn how,but it was a really pleasant and relaxing stay,i was shown 3 rooms to choose from by the very helpful and friendly receptionist and we chose 25 which overlooked a very lush green garden. Room was spotless with mixture of modern and old furniture and queen size bed. We dined in the hotel restaurant where the service and food were superb (im a chef and hard to please!) the chicken cooked to perfection and on a hot plate,cold plates are a real annoyance to me in many places !. Breakfast again was good with a fantastic choice,full cumbrian,kippers,scrambled eggs with smoked salmon ,eggs benedict etc,was really nicely presented and we ate while watching th birds and squirrels the other side of the glass ! again,service was first class.

Perfect location for walking to Lake Windermere and Bowness village. The staff were very friendly and breakfast was excellent, loads to choose from. Our room was in an adjacent house. The room was quite small, but the bathroom had loveley quality bath sheets.
This is the first time I had stayed at this hotel. After checking in I was taken to my bed room, which are seperate from the main hotel, but umbrellas are provided.
The advantage of this is that you can park your car outside the bedroom. The room exceeded all expectations, they are good size rooms with a modern bathroom and a balcony with a terrific view of the gardens.
I had dinner in the restaurant and the table d'hote menu was very reasonablly priced. I have never tasted a better Steak and Mushroom pudding which was lovely and mosit and the vegetables were cooked to perfection. The only problem was that after two courses I could not eat anymore and therefore to my regret had to miss out on the tantalsing sweets.
Breakfast in the morning was excellent with a wide choice of starters from the buffett and scrambled eggs with smoked salmon perfectly prepared in the kitchen. What a nice change not to have cold congealed scrambled egg from a buffett!
The staff are attentive and eager to please and nothing was too much trouble.
A very enjoyable stay and I do really think the A.A. should be looking to give them a secon rosette.
We were looking for a short break in the Lakes and were very pleased with our choice. We had a garden chalet with balcony, it had a double and single bed, the room was very spacious and spotlessly clean.
The staff were all very friendly, we will most certainly return
Just to let you know what a fabulous time we had staying with you. Thank you so much, although you didn't see much of us our stay was great. Room was lovely and warm, both breakfast's were top. Staff were friendly and helpful.
